WHAT IS INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE?
At Crownwood Integrative Health, we take a whole-person approach to care. That means really listening, building a strong connection with you, and using proven treatments alongside healthy lifestyle changes. We combine the best of different therapies and work with a team of professionals to help you feel your best and support your healing—inside and out.

Our Story
Fueled by a strong commitment to understanding the underlying causes of disease and inflammation—and favoring natural approaches—Dr. Shen pursued and completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona.
Back in 1948, the World Health Organization (WHO) defined health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
Unfortunately, in today’s healthcare system—what we often refer to as the “sick care” model—treatment usually begins only after a condition is identified or confirmed.
Our mission is to change that paradigm by practicing a different health care: an approach that emphasizes both prevention and active treatment. While we certainly address conditions once diagnosed, we also believe that true care means helping prevent illness and nurturing overall well-being.

Whole-Person Focus
Rather than just treating symptoms, integrative medicine looks at the root causes of illness—physical, emotional, environmental and lifestyle factors—to help prevent disease before it starts.

Lifestyle as Medicine
We promotes nutrition, physical activity, stress management and sleep as essential tools for disease prevention. We collaborate with patients to create sustainable, individualized wellness plans.

Blending Modalities
We value the mind, body, and soul. One of the keys to achieving total health is taking care of your mind. That’s why we’ve partnered with psychotherapy providers for a more holistic approach to medicine.
